Winter Guard Has Begun

Most of you know about the Marching band. Most of you have seen their color guard; the beautiful girls who twirl flags on the field. Color guard has their own season when Marching Band isn’t in session. This season is simply called Winter Guard. The band’s percussion also has its own winter season. These sections of the band perform independently in their own leagues against other Winter guard and percussion groups. There are multiple different circuits for these performances. Winter Guard has six different shows this year in a different circuit than last. If you ever see the guard spinning out on the blacktop during third period, it’s because they are readying themselves for winter. They will be practicing hard to successfully compete this winter season, and the same goes for percussion. Please wish them luck this season! Go, Miners!
