On January 9th, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a 2-year-old child is recorded on Snapchat vaping. The family of the child entrusted a family friend to watch over their baby while they went out for the night. The babysitter was 17-years-old and brought her 18-year-old friend over to help. It was reported that the child found the vaping device, which belonged to the 17-year-old girl, on a nightstand. It is believed that one or both of the teenagers discouraged the child from inhaling from the device, but did not proceed to stop him. Instead, one or both of the teenagers recorded the child as he put the device in his mouth and pushed the button. The device was a Juul and by pushing the button, it allows the smoke to be released. The video shows the child pushing the button, coughing, and then crying while the teenagers laughed in the background. In the video, no smoke is seen coming from the device, but police believed the child, in fact, inhaled from the device. The vaping device is thought to have contained 3% nicotine but no THC. The teenagers are being charged with endangering the welfare of children.
