How do people cope with pain? Most times as humans we don’t understand why we feel certain ways sometimes. Most of the time we can’t change the way we feel because to feel is that hardly goes away. For people to distract themselves from pain so they could enjoy life more is to help them, relax, reduce stress in life, boost chronic pain relief with the natural endorphins from exercise, cut back on alcohol, which can worsen sleep problems, join a support group, and to not smoke, chronic pain can lead to a chronic stress reaction that causes an increase in blood pressure and heart rate. This stress reaction can lead to harmful health effects. Such as a reduced ability to fight off illness and diseases. According to webmd.com, it states “Deep breathing and meditation are techniques that help your body relax, which may ease the pain. Tension and tightness seep from muscles as they receive a quiet message to relax.” It also says, in the same article “Although there are many ways to meditate, the soothing power of repetition is at the heart of some forms of meditation. Focusing on the breath, ignoring thoughts, and repeating a word or phrase- – a mantra- – causes the body to relax. While you can learn meditation on your own, it helps to take a class. This means that there are many sources and options to help cope with chronic pain.
