In this world, we must choose who we idolize carefully. Who you relate and associate yourself with can say a lot about you. Wisely, many over the course of these last 20 years have chosen to honor and idolize legend Kobe Bryant. Sadly, last Sunday, Kobe, his daughter Gianna, and 7 other lives were cut tragically short. But through his fans, his legacy still burns on.

Just a few hours after news of Bryant’s death broke, an online petition began to circle the internet. A petition to make Kobe Bryant the New NBA logo. The creator, Nikyar Moghtader, a teenager from Canada, states, “ My initial goal was to get a mere 100 signatures, I didn’t expect much to come out of it.” Just 2 days after Kobe’s death, the petition has reached over 2 million signatures. Honorary names among those include Jamal Crawford and Larry Nance Jr (high-profile basketball players).

Kobe Bryant achieved feats many can only hope to achieve. His legacy is carrying on through his family, friends and dedicated fans.
