Patrick Mahomes leads the Chiefs to their third and final comeback from 10+ points this postseason, to take home the Lombardi Trophy. At the start of the 4th quarter, it was 20-10 49ers winning, Mahomes just threw an interception to start the quarter, then the Chiefs went on to score 21 unanswered points and win their first Super Bowl in 50 years, 31-20. Before the game, Andy Reid was the coach with the most wins who didn’t have a Lombardi Trophy. Mahomes became the youngest player to be named an NFL MVP and win a Super Bowl in their career, taking the record from none other than Tom Brady. The Chiefs 21 points in the 4th quarter are tied for the most 4th quarter points in Super Bowl history. Since 2010 the team that scores first is 8-2, Kyle Shanahan had a hand in both losses, this year’s 49ers and the other being the 2016 Falcons, leading 28-3 at one point. Patrick is just going to keep getting better and, going to keep breaking records. He is a unique talent, and it’s once in a lifetime. I believe he will have as heavy an impact as Tom Brady did on the game of football.
