Welcome to Freezing February Miners! The unusually cold temperatures are beginning to kill plants, bugs, and are causing a spike in hoodie purchases. The highest temperatures this week are not even supposed to break 60 degrees fahrenheit. Many Californians are not used to the cold temperatures, and the idea that shorts should not be worn during this time has occurred to most people. It’s a common sight to see people huddled together like penguins, cupping their hot drinks in both hands. Starbucks is probably benefiting nicely from the cold, along with the hoodie manufacturers. An apparent favorite combination in female students to keep warm is a nice pair of fluffy socks, some warm boots, and a hoodie that’s one size too big (myself included). Remember to protect your ears and nose from frostbite- even though beanies and hoods are extremely discouraged by school staff- and try to stay warm Miners!
