Having free time can often be more stressful than it needs to be. People work and work and work, and once they have a little downtime, they find themselves without anything to do. They lack motivation because they lack a constructive hobby or activity to spend time on. Here are a few suggestions on how to better spend your time.

  • Baking~ This is one of my favorite hobbies because it feels productive, yet it is still fun. A lot of recipes require the same ingredients, so you don’t need to acquire difficult-to-find or odd ingredients to make basic things.
  • Learning another language~ Picking up another language can be fun, but it is also beneficial. You can connect with more people and grow in your appreciation of different cultures.
  • Journaling~ Journaling can be a fun and efficient way to organize your life and goals. Using colorful paper, markers, and stickers can be a calming method of recording to-do lists, feelings, schedules, and more.
  • Reading~ Reading is a great way to utilize your time, learn, and grow your vocabulary. You can borrow books for free at the library or get used books for cheap. Another option is reading on your phone or tablet, but this is controversial if you appreciate the physicality of a book.
  • Yoga~ Yoga is a low impact way to stay active. It has many benefits such as increased flexibility, maintaining a balanced metabolism, improved energy, and increased muscle strength.
