What would be the 33rd annual Kids Day Fundraiser has officially been canceled. Valley Children’s Hospital announced this news on Thursday to avoid spreading viruses’, especially Coronavirus. The annual fundraiser has helped serve the hospital since 1987. Through the years, kids’ dollars have helped aid valley children most in need. Thousands of volunteers line up on street corners in the central valley to sell newspapers of the special edition of the Fresno Bee for only $1. Volunteers raised almost $650,000 last year due to the fundraiser and more than $9.8 million since it was established. The foundation has also canceled its upcoming sponsored events until “this particular virus is better understood and better controlled.” Many people are curious if this specific virus is being blown out of proportion and there are unnecessary extremities being taken. What else is going to be affected by this epidemic is the question many people are asking. The Valley Children’s Hospital has changed its visitor policy effective immediately. The new policy is allowing only parents, guardians, or direct caregivers to see the patients other than their doctors and health providers. Though the fundraiser has been temporarily closed, Valley Children’s President has thanked the volunteers and donors for their support until they believe it is safe enough to help support the valley children.Image result for kids day
