Working Students

High school can be very time-consuming. Sports and extra-curriculars, on top of getting homework and studying done, can be stressful. Imagine having a job at the same time…Lots of students in high school have after school jobs. These people have 5+ hours of school and sometimes even 6+ hours of work, taking up an entire day. According to Walden University researchers, “…most jobs held by high schoolers do not teach skills that can lead to any kind of career advancement…. Working a job and then going home to study can leave a student with little time to sleep.” I agree with this because I am a senior in high school and I have a job too. I am a full-time student sometimes working full-time hours at work. It definitely affects my school work, getting home at 10-12 pm, I only want to lay in bed and go to sleep. I don’t have much study time, and I end up getting homework done last minute. I’ve missed lots of school events because of work. I like having a job and making money, but at the same time, I’d also like to enjoy my senior year.
