Hispanic Heritage Month started this month on September 15 and continues until October 15, it celebrates the United States recognizing the huge impact Hispanic Americans have on the country.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month this is a story of an immigrant from Mexico to the United States. My mom was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico and crossed the border with her family at three months old. She crossed with her mom, dad, six sisters and brother. They crossed from Mexico to Texas. They did not risk anything coming over because they had already gotten permanent residence papers. They came over in the car so only had to pay for the papers for the permanent. Her parents took their kids over to have a better life for them and it worked. She now has the american dream of having a family, job, house and education. She would miss Mexico, especially her grandparents, but she would always return every December to celebrate the holidays. After living in the United States for 30 years she had finally got her United States citizenship. She is very grateful for her parents bringing her over to the United States.
