On September 18, there was a fire just north of Visalia near Ivanhoe. Fire investigators currently do not know how the fire started. When the fire occurred, in the home was a teenage neighbor, 6-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old boy. The children’s mother was away in Sierra fighting the SQF Complex Fire. The teenage neighbor and the little girl were able to escape, but unfortunately the son passed away. The report stated that the fire and smoke were too heavy and the firefighters were unable to go into the home to rescue the boy. Investigators remain on scene, along with the Tulare County deputy to determine what happened on that Friday morning.
