The Neighbourhood Releases Their Newest Album

A week ago from today, Friday the 2nd, a very well known band called The Neighbourhood released a new album after 2 years. It’s called “Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones.” This marks the band’s 5th album after they began all the way back in 2013. This album is merely half an hour long in length due to there being 11 nice and simple songs. In order, the songs in this album are “Chip Chrome,” “Pretty Boy,” “Lost in Translation,” “Devil’s Advocate,” “Hell or High Water,” “Cherry Flavoured” (my personal favorite), “The Mono-Tones,” “BooHoo,” “Silver Lining,” “Tobacco Sunburst,” and “Middle of Somewhere.”

Many fans, including myself, noticed a big style change in this new album; the genre of music took much more of an indie route in contrast to their previous albums, which were more alternative rock and dark pop. However, even with this change, I still find the music to be very catchy and I personally love the route that the band is deciding to take. While nothing can compare to their previous albums and big hits such as “Sweater Weather” or “Scary Love,” the style of the newest album shouldn’t be compared to any of their previous songs since the style change is very noticeable and proceeds to make each of the albums so unique in their own beautiful ways. I already know I’ll be listening to this new album for a while and continue supporting The Neighbourhood throughout all the songs they debut, just as I’ve been doing for the past couple years.

If you’re looking for some new music, whether you prefer indie or alternative or pop, I suggest taking a listen to The Neighbourhood. They have many great selections of songs; who knows, you may get hooked onto them.
