As the year continues to come to an end, so does my hope for humanity. The corona virus situation should have been solved the first months we knew about it but there are still many cases showing till this day. Since the virus is still a big deal and many people are still dying from it, since they don’t listen when others say to stay home or wear a mask, there won’t be a Halloween this year.
Halloween is something everyone can enjoy and doesn’t just have to be about trick or treating since many people do parties with their friends. It was the first time in 5 years that Halloween has landed on a Saturday night but it’s also on a full moon which makes it more exciting than other years. This year was supposed to be a great Halloween night where we had parties and went trick or treating with our friends but since people didn’t take the virus seriously we have to stay home this year.
On the bright side we could still have some fun with our family like playing games, baking, watching scary movies, or doing halloween makeup. Doing spooky makeup can be really fun since it doesn’t have to be perfect and it’s still great to dress up at home to take pictures in order to post them on social media. Baking is also really fun when it comes to halloween since we can make monster cupcakes and make our own scary designs on cookies or cakes. When the baking is done it’s nice to get together with the family and watch scary movies all night long while eating the baked goodies.
It would have been nice if we could have gone out for Halloween but maybe another year when it lands on the weekend we wouldn’t have to worry about any virus. It’s sad that we still have this problem but it is nice to look on the bright side rather than just being sad about it. Hopefully we can learn from this year and actually prepare well if a virus like this ever comes again so we could spend the holidays together.
