The SPF Complex fire is the largest, most destructive fire in Tulare County history as it has grown to 156,435 acres. The fire officials have confirmed 65% of the fire has been contained as of Sunday. The fire is expected to be contained by November 1. There have been more than 900 firefighters assigned to the SPF Complex fire and the Castle and Shotgun fires which destroyed 228 structures. Residents are now able to return to Camp Nelson, Pierpoint, Ponderosa, Coy Flat, and Doyle Springs. The Tulare County Sheriff has reminded residents that they are able to return to their homes, but some areas are threatened by the fires.
