A Toilet Worth $23M

NASA has just tested their new titanium space toilet after decades of not revamping their potty system. This toilet is now better suited for women compared to older designs. It was supposed to be blasted into space, but the launch was aborted two minutes before it took off. The new toilet is barely 100 pounds and only 28 inches tall. It is to fit in the NASA Orion capsules that will carry astronauts to the moon in a few years. According to Johnson Space Center’s Melissa McKinley (the project manager), the key difference that allows this toilet to be more suitable for women is that it is taller, tilted, and has a new shape to make it easier for astronauts to sit. While going to the bathroom in space may seem like an easy task, the $23 M spent on this new design says otherwise.
