I think we can all agree that 2020 has to be the worst year of all time! In January, multiple events had happened that left the world to be in shock. First, there were the Australian bush fires that burned 47 million acres, resulting in killing 34 people and animals such as Koalas losing their homes in the wild. Next, the heartbreaking death of Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna Bryant that was caused in a helicopter crash in Calabasas on January 26th, 2020. In February, there was an impeachment trial of Donald Trump, but he ended up being acquitted by the Senate on February 5th 2020. There was also the Harvey Weinstein verdict when he was convicted of sexually assaulting an actress and sexually abusing a TV and film a production assistant and this raised up the #MeToo movement for women and men who also have been through the same situation of sexual assault. In March, there was a big Stock market crash on March 9th and was the worst single-day point drop ever to happen. Many stores, Malls, schools, and more closed down due to the COVID 19 pandemic. In April, there were many rumors of Kim Jong Un’s death of a “failed heart surgery” and a knife attack in France. In June until most of August, there were the Black Lives Matter protests happening due to the death of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and George Floyd after being a victim of police brutality being struck to the ground with a knee on his neck on May 25th 2020. There are more events that occurred, but we pray that 2021 would be better than 2020.
