Myanmar

The military of Myanmar, overthrew the country’s fragile democratic government in a coup d’etat on February 1st, arresting civilian leaders, shutting off the internet, cutting off flights, etc.

This was caused by the military not accepting the votes from their first Parliament session, in which the National League for Democracy won 83 percent of the body’s available seats, stating that it was a “vote fraudulence”. The possibility of the coup emerged after the military threatened to “take action” and surrounded the houses of Parliament with soldiers.

In one night, the citizens of Myanmar’s human rights have been taken away. Myanmar’s military has banned most social media platforms to prevent the rest of the world from knowing about this.

Myanmar has been suffering from this abusive military practice over the past 60 years. Only from 2011, Myanmar has taken a leap of faith to form a democracy.

The people of Myanmar have tried to protest the military, only to face heavily armed soldiers outside their doors. However, that hasn’t stopped citizens from trying to spread awareness about Myanmar.
