DOC B.A.N.D

On February 4th, I had the opportunity to participate in the Kaweah Delta Health Care, DOC B.A.N.D. It was on a webinar platform, as you can imagine, in a time like this, but I learned a lot from a panel of healthcare professionals in the fields ranging from plastic surgery to physical therapy. When asked how to do well in your career, Dr. Jason Roos, Otolaryngology, better known as head and neck surgery, responded, “Don’t close any doors even if you decide later you don’t like something you will always learn from it.” This sparked my interest as a senior studying kinesiology in the fall and hopes of becoming a physical therapist. Also, sometime during the night I wrote down a quote by Dr. Kevin Kessler, MD states,” I have always looked up to my father- who he was and what he did. I want to emulate him in medicine.” This quote stood out to me because we all have someone that we look up to and we should represent them in our careers. Anyways DOC B.A.N.D was a great opportunity. I thank the teachers, healthcare workers, and administrators who helped make the event happen.
