New Guidelines For Reopening Schools Expected From CDC

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is set to release new guidelines that will help children return to school physically during the Coronavirus pandemic this week. The Biden administration is pushing towards this goal so that America’s economy can reopen and things in America will get back to normal. Many important strategies that the CDC recommends to schools that want to reopen are the following: hand washing, masking, social distancing, cleaning and ventilation, as well as contact tracing, isolation and quarantine. The guidelines given out by the CDC also states that COVID-19 testing can improve the detection of cases with students. Some teachers and unions are pushing back against this movement towards reopening as they have high demands for vaccination and supplies that they would need if schools were allowed to reopen again. Although plans to reopen schools come with many risks, the CDC is positive that important tasks such as staying on top of transmission rates, COVID-19 testing, masking, and social distancing outside of schools will help schools to become readily prepared to reopen to students.
