California Attempting to Reopen Schools

By SAMUEL GARCIA

California lawmakers have reached a $6.5 billion deal to reopen schools this spring. The first deal proposed set $2 billion for schools to reopen schools by December but this was unrealistic to pay for all the COVID-19 testing for students and teachers. The new deal would triple the amount of money for the schools and require county public health departments to offer the vaccine for the school staff. Getting students into classrooms is important, but there has to be a safe way in order to do it and as time goes on it seems like more of a possibility that it could happen, but for now students have to stay home still.
