Visalia Unified School District Superintendent has predicted that secondary school students may be returning to campus after Spring break. Teenagers will be able to return in-person learning once there is an under 8% positivity rate for 2 weeks straight and the county reports a daily case rate of 7 per 100,000 people, 0.00007%. The positivity goal has been met but the case rate is 11.8%. Sites under VUSD have a preparation checklist that they are following to be ready for students to return. The district will have a three-week period to open their schools and if the schools are not opened within the window, then the opportunity will be missed.
