Ever since the beginning of October Fall sports were allowed to practice. Following the many guidelines each student had to follow in order to practice. Each day rules were changed for the students in order to practice one day we running the next we could be catching a ball. Fall sports athletes practiced like this all the way until December. Then January athletes had come back until practice would be cancelled until further notice from the district to allow a season. Finally Wednesday the District announces that Fall sports Water polo and football would not have a season. This was announced two weeks after Governor Newsom allowed football to resume following certain guidelines. VUSD has cancelled the football and water polo season since January 6th, they just never announced it. Many parents are trying to fight this as well as students are speaking up about how this is very unfair to athletes.
