Six people were shot, and one person was killed within a 48-hour period in Hartford, Connecticut this week.
On Monday two shootings occurred, which led to an arrest. Police responded to the area just after 12:30 A.M. after there were reports of a man being shot. The victim, who suffered a gunshot wound in the stomach, is said to be in stable condition.
Several hours later police got a call reporting a 15-year-old was shot in the stomach by his father. Officials say that the boy’s injuries were non-life-threatening and now he is currently in critical, but stable conditions.
Early Tuesday morning police responded to another 911 call and later learned that a 19 year old had died soon after being shot. Police plan on investigating the incident by going through surveillance camera footage from the area to help the investigation.
A couple hours after another shooting occurred around 1:53 P.M. reported by a Shot Spotter activation. The victim had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the ankle, police say he is currently in stable condition.
Hartford police are investigating these crimes and instituting a new Shooting Task Force, hoping to drive the numbers of shootings down.
