Lilianna Carrillo was captured by police and taken into custody after a long police chase; she was detained in Ponderosa. Authorities suspect she is responsible for the murders of her 3 young children–two girls and a boy at ages 2, 3, and 6–due to a troubling child custody dispute.
According to Visalia Times Delta, Erik Denton, the father of the children, requested a “temporary emergency visitation order from the family court” in hopes that Carillo would be mentally evaluated. In response, Carillo filed a temporary domestic violence restraining order against him, all the way in Los Angeles. While Denton said that the LAPD did not provide any type of help to prevent the restraining order, he also said that Carillo was supposed to bring the kids to him by the upcoming Sunday.
Unfortunately, that was never the case. The children’s grandmother walked in unknowingly in the crime scene, finding the children unmoving with stab wounds in their own home. Carrillo was not at home; according to authorities, during the same time of the discovery, she was on the road in a carjacked vehicle she stole during an altercation. The chase between her and police was ensued as the grandmother called the police and that’s when Carrillo was detained near Porterville. A motive for the murder has not yet been figured out and Carrillo is only suspected to be the murderer; she will continue to be detained as authorities try to figure out the whole situation.
