This being El Diamante’s first full week back to school, students, as well as teachers, have been able to get a better idea of how the rest of the school year will go. Coming from an online student I have mixed emotions of the new schedule. I enjoy being at home, distance learning, however there are quite a few negatives. For starters, I have no choice but to be in track B and as a student athlete this is not the most beneficial academically for me. Although nothing can be done to change that, I wish the school would have made A track half in person and online, while track B would be in person only. The way teachers teach the class is also kind of odd. In some of my classes the teachers do a great job of teaching and paying attention to the in-person and online kids equally. However, in a few of my classes it feels as though the teachers are only teaching to the in-person students, from my perspective. I understand the teachers are trying their best though and that they did not sign up to teach black screens on the computer. This is an awkward and difficult time for everybody and of course there will be flaws. However, with there only being about two months of school left I’m sure the students and teachers will manage until next school year, which will hopefully go back to the new normal.
