On Sunday morning, just a little before 9 a.m, deputies were called to the area north of Avenue 204, for a suggested “rooster fight” beginning. When deputies arrived, they reported many cars started to flee the area. At the scene 13 fighting roosters and other materials were found that indicated people were trying to start a “roosters fight” ahead of law enforcement arriving. Reports of deputies finding food, tables, and a fighting ring. There was also an image released from the deputies, that indicated the criminals were armed. At the scene deputies found up to $1,500, suggesting betting may have been in place. What was also found was a drivers license belonging to 40-year-old Cesar Ramos of Dinuba, which was collected as evidence. Ramos is now wanted for questioning and is “still on the run”, as reports from deputies suggest. During a traffic stop, Ramon Salazar was found with four fighting roosters and several gaffs. The 61-year-old man was arrested and booked. Cockfighing is banned in all 50 states, if caught these men could face up 10 years.
