- How long have you been in the education business?
I have been in education for 22 years.
- How has it been with El Diamante since the beginning?
I was hired at EDHS in April of the first school year as the athletic trainer.
- Did you always want to be a teacher/administrator?
I actually always said I would do anything, but be a teacher. Once I was hired as the athletic trainer (which didn’t pay much) I had to find a job that would pay the bills but let me continue to be the athletic trainer. A teacher was the perfect fit. Best decision I had ever made. I also never thought I would get into admin, but I love sports and missed working with them.
- What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to ride quads in the desert, hang out at the beach, I used to run half marathons, but now I stick to 5Ks, Disneyland, and playing with my puppy.
- Are you married? Have a family?
I am recently engaged and will soon have 3 amazing stepsons. I also have a 9-month old puppy named Khaleesi and a soon-to-be step dog named Gryffin.
- What do you like best, so far, at El Diamante?
I like the connections I see being made every day. I like the support our students and staff give each other in hard times and good.
- Do you like being the athletic director so far?
The athletic director job is very busy and total chaos to be honest… constantly changing and constantly needed by someone…. and I love every minute of it!
