Self reflection- Mental and Physical Health

Every night around 10, I go outside and sit under the stars to reflect. Everybody has different views of what self reflection is. To me self reflection is looking deep into who I am. I became sensitive to the emotions I went through and really started to process what I was really feeling. I then ask myself why I felt this in the first place leading me to the next phase of reflection.

In this stage my mind fills with defensive thoughts. This is when I must become strong, I don’t let thoughts overpower my mental estate. One must control their emotions and realise that emotion and thought are two completely different things. One you have control over and the other you really don’t.

I personally talk to the stars to get everything off my chest; Once I finish this stage, usually I will be left with some type of clarity about my situation. I find myself learning a lot about my childhood. I now know things about my personality that I didn’t know before.

This process honestly has changed my entire perspective on the world. I learned to deal with my emotions instead of reflecting it on others. This process has made me feel very secure with who I am and what I stand for.

Feeling secure in yourself brings on a whole new level of love that you didn’t even know was there. Self improvement is always a step in the right direction no matter how much pain you have been through.  Even when you hit rock bottom the only way to go is up but once you’re up remember that “with great power comes great responsibility.”- Uncle Ben ( spiderman).
