Toys R Us Makes Major Comeback

I’m sure for many of you reading this, you have many fond memories strolling through the vast toy isles in Toys R Us and begging your parents for every 50$ set of legos your eyes landed on or ogling at the biggest and baddest nerf gun money can buy. So when Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy in March of 2018 and had closed all stores by June that same year, many of us were sad to see our old childhood safe havens reduced to relics of the past that now lay dormant behind what we thought to be permanently closed doors.

But as of August 19th 2021, it has been announced that Toys R Us will be making a comeback in the toy industry with a new partnership with the popular shopping center Macy’s. It is said that there will be sections of the Macy’s store that will be dedicated to selling toys under the Toys R Us name starting sometime later this year. Although i’m sure many of you would rather have the stores themselves reopen, as the magic of Toys R Us for the kids of a bygone era certainly couldn’t be rekindled by a simple section of a Macy’s superstore. But at the very least we can look forward to the children of today enjoying even a small fraction of the fun that I’m sure we all had shopping for toys at everyone’s favorite toy store, Toys R Us.
