Makes: About 12 Scones
Ingredients needed:
- 3 ½ cup of flour
- ½ cup of sugar
- 2 ¼ tsp of baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup of butter (cut up and put in the freezer)
- ⅔ cup of half and half
- 2 tsp of almond extract
- 1 large egg
- 6 oz of chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
- Put the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and butter in the food processor and pulse until the butter is in the size of peas
- Combine the half and half, egg, and almond extract in a separate bowl and stir to combine
- Add the ingredients that were in the food processor to the wet ingredients and mix to combine
- Add the chocolate chips
- Combine until the mixture is a dough like texture
- Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough out to about a 1 inch thickness
- Cut the dough with a triangle cookie cutter
- Place the scones on a greased baking sheet
- Brush the scones with half and half and sprinkle with sugar
- Bake for 15 minutes or until barley golden
- Let the scones cool
