Every student I’ve met has said at least once “I have no motivation to do this.” Even I have. It’s something we all go through. Whether it’s because of mental health issues, or just not having a good focusing ability. In my opinion, I feel like part of the reason is the teachers. Giving large amounts of work with little time. Even if they think they are trying to build responsibility, it’s hurting us more in the process. We are teenagers. We have responsibilities, yes, but we also want to have fun. Going to school, where you can’t learn, isn’t fun. People, teachers, the atmosphere here for some students is unbearable. Most teenagers our age have many underlying mental health issues. That can cause a lot of lack of motivation and problems. The teachers need to understand this, what if it was their child coming home crying everyday because they can’t handle the amount of homework they are getting? Trust me, I’ve done that multiple times. Not even because it’s stressful, it’s because I have no motivation and some teachers make learning miserable. If some teachers understood more, I feel like we wouldn’t have as much of an issue for this. We should just all try to take this into consideration.
