13-year-old Sky Brown was just a normal kid going to school, hanging out with friends, and playing sports. Since she was old enough to walk she admired her family’s passion and hobby of riding skateboards. She watched Youtube videos to learn new tricks, her preschool had a skatepark, and she had a skate ramp in her backyard. Alongside skateboarding Brown had other hobbies such as surfing and dancing. In 2018 she participated and won the show “Dancing with the Stars.” With skateboarding being her main passion she still has managed to be just as good at surfing and has even considered being in the 2024 Olympics for surfing alongside skateboarding. Brown is the current youngest Olympic medalist in skateboarding. Brown is sponsored by Nike, making her the youngest Nike-sponsored athlete in the world. At such a young age she is sharing such a good message to encourage young girls worldwide to find their own success.
