Over the past few weeks there have been a few changes at EL Diamante High School. One major policy or rule they added was the tardy policy which affected many kids. It consists of not being allowed off campus if you are tardy in any of your classes. This policy was created to lower the amounts of tardiness among students, and encourage them to get to class on time each day. Although it is for a good cause, most students don’t agree with it and dont like the new rules. A lot of kids get upset that they aren’t able to go off campus and think it’s over dramatic. Another policy the school just announced recently was the rules about being eligible to attend games or school activities. You must have a 2.0 GPA or higher to get let into the football games, and a 1.5 GPA to be let off campus for lunch. This policy affected many students with a low GPA and not too many were happy about it. Overall, I believe these new policies will help students be encouraged to want to get their grades up if they want to attend anything. It will push students to success and help everyone get good grades and be able to attend school activities.
