Class of 2022 vs Grad Nite

The Class of 2022 is finally getting a real school year as seniors. We are the first class since COVID began to get a real school year with real senior activities. We are actually getting a Grad Nite, Prom, and most likely a real graduation ceremony. . . so we think. The school’s aren’t even one hundred percent sure how things are going to be in May, so they are practically teasing all of the seniors, getting us all excited and happy, for an unsure event. They are giving us the vote for grad nite and everything, but they don’t know for sure. In May, if Magic Mountain or Universal Studios is closed due to COVID or the state goes back into lockdown, the school just got us all excited for absolutely nothing. I feel like if the school has no idea how things are going to go yet, they shouldn’t get our hopes up just in case. They should either give us a grad nite early, when we know we’re able to go instead of waiting, or don’t mention it to us at all. It will hurt the seniors even more if we find out we spent all of our money just to get refunded. Knowing we had a chance and lost it the closer it gets, rather than knowing we won’t get it would suck even more. It will just be a repetition of the class of 2020.
