On Friday, October 15, 2021, El Diamante High School held its annual “pink out” game at Groppetti Stadium. The Miners played Mt. Whitney High School’s Pioneers in a hard-fought football game. Both sides of the stadium, home and away, were fully decorated in different shades of pink, as Mt. Whitney and El Diamante students showed their support for breast cancer awareness. Since October is well known as the official month for breast cancer awareness, many sports teams and athletes show their support for the cause by wearing pink in the month of October, so the schools did as well. El Diamante’s Junior Varsity won their game 43-9 and the Varsity team also won, 42-21. The Miners’ student section was packed with spirited students cheering on their fellow friends and classmates on the school’s football team. ASB gave out many pink goodies to the student section, including glow sticks, beaded necklaces, balloons, and pom-poms. If you are interested in experiencing some classic American fun, full of school spirit and music, it is highly recommended that you attend one of El Diamante High School’s Varsity football games. Our next game is this Friday, October 22, 2021, at 7:30 PM. The theme of the game is “black out” and we are playing Redwood High School. While El Diamante’s theme is to dress in all black, Redwood will be dressing in white. Let’s show up to support our boys. Go Miners!
