Lemon Bars

Ingredients for the bars’ crust:

  • 1 cup of softened butter
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour

Ingredients for the lemon bars:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 ½ cup of white sugar
  • ¼ cup of flour
  • 2 lemons, juiced
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Mix the softened butter, 2 cups of flour, and ½ cup of sugar in a medium mixing bowl until a dough like consistency is formed
  3. Press the crust into the bottom of an ungreased 9 by 13 inch pan
  4. Bake for about 15 minutes in the preheated oven or until it turns golden brown 
  5. While the crust is in the oven, wisk the remaining 1 ½ cups of sugar and ¼ cup of flour, in a large mixing bowl. 
  6. Wisk the lemon juice and eggs into the dry ingredients
  7. After the ingredients are mixed together pour over the crust and bake for 20 minutes or until the bars are firm
  8. Once the bars are cooled, cut them into squares and sprinkle powdered sugar on top
  9. Enjoy!
