Toxic Core

By ISABELLA BURCIAGA

My one and only love. I destroyed her surface with my marks, I burned her from the outside in, with my filth of lies. The one woman who loved me, from soul to sin, I’ve discolored her tears and tore out the roots of her very being. She’s a woman scorned and ready to cash out on my karma. Every water bottle thrown and cigarette tossed out, is an unintended lash out. What a tortured life, She erased my existence while I managed to erase her very purpose. I’ve left her now with a burnt inside, scars inflicted that have run to her core. My legs shake as her fiery insides shoot out, licking at my feet. Our ending has come, now as our future turns to ash and we stand in our final moments, I whisper an apology that cannot reverse the damages. As the season came and went and a lifetime of disappearing and reappearing acts, she

Her name was Earth.
