Red (Taylor’s Version)

Back in October 2012, the original release of Red came out, and now over 9 years later Taylor Swift has released Red (Taylor’s Version). The just around 2 hour and 10-minute album features 30 songs. This album not only includes all of the original songs however now owned completely by Taylor but also included the release of a 10-minute version of “All too Well” which was nominated for 4 Grammys in 2014. To go along with the new album a short film starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien was released, written, and directed by Taylor Swift. Many fans have begun to speculate who the song was written about, who the mysterious man who broke Taylor’s heart is, and the unanimous vote seems to be Jake Gyllenhaal. American actor Gyllenhaal was around 30 when rumors of the relationship with 20-year-old Taylor began to arise. They were seen in public together making their debut in a variety of tabloids. However, with the short film now released to the public, it’s very easy to tell it was written about him and the fans are not happy. The way Taylor portrays her treatment from Gyllenhaal at the time is making many hardcore “Swifties” (The fan coined name) ban together to hate Gyllenhaal. As believable as a bad boyfriend it is hard to not be a little skeptical about this just being another Hollywood scheme made up to sell albums. No matter what your views on the personal lives of celebrities, it’s hard not to admit that listening to “All too Well” on full volume isn’t a great way to waste gas as you drive around aimlessly singing your heart out.
