It seems like students are caring less and less each year. Many students have been making El Diamante accounts to bully others anonymously. The accounts consist of the owner posting pictures of other students around campus on different Instagram pages. Each page has a different topic and others can request certain pictures to be on their page. I have seen a few students I know that have been posted on these accounts and the outcome is upsetting. A friend who was posted on one of the accounts was extremely upset. The owners of the accounts wouldn’t like it if they were posted on one, so my question is why do they like to bring others down? I genuinely worry for some of these students’ futures. I believe everyone at this point knows that things like these could be really hurtful, but they continue to do it without a care in the world. There have been some situations where staff members have been posted as well. After gaining your students’ trust just to be posted online and talked down upon can be even more hurtful to the staff. Innocent students are getting attacked and this needs to be put to an end immediately. I am tired of seeing people get hurt from these accounts. Students should grow up. We are in high school and we should all work through these years together. We are all in the same place going through similar situations as teenagers. Wasting our high school years over dumb drama is unnecessary when everyone could get along and make school a fun place to be.
