How to Make at Home Reed Diffusers

Reed diffusers are great for getting your home to smell really good without having to burn a candle or using an electrical diffuser. They are animal safe for all types of pets. I have birds so I am very limited when it comes to making my room smell pretty. Reed diffusers are simple but not so cheap to make.

Things you will need:

Sweet Almond Oil (¼ cup)

Essential oils of your choice (45 drops)

Reed diffuser sticks

Reed diffuser jars

Funnel

The first thing you’ll do is put your funnel in the jar so you can pour the ¼ cup of almond oil in the jar. After that you pick your essential oil or oils, I picked rose and cotton for mine. It created this light floral scent and it’s just amazing. I used roughly about 45 drops, maybe more. The more essential oil you add the more strong the scent will be, the fewer drops the scent will be very faint. Once the sweet almond oil and essential oil is in the jar, you can mix them by shaking them so everything is nicely dispersed. Once it’s all mixed, place about 4-6 reeds into the jar. Let the reed diffuser rest for about an hour, after that flip the reeds so the part that was resting in oil is now exposed to the air. Every once in a while flip the reeds for a better smell, I flip the reeds every time I remember and that’s about every other day.
