Throughout the years Visalia Unified School District, in collaboration with the four main high schools, has executed excellent school dances that are designed to spark social interaction and promote the international phenomenon of getting down on the dance floor. These dances have continued to get better and better every year. School dances are the one place no matter where you come from or how you carry yourself, you won’t be judged. These dances are places where VUSD students have had the opportunity to have fun and be themselves. Some of the best moments are made at Harvest, Winter Formal, Spring Fling, and Prom. These are nights that will stay with these students forever, therefore making them special is one of the school’s top priorities. Visalia Unified School District has not held a school dance since the year 2020. It’s been two years and all these hard-working students have wished for was a night where they could have a blast. Well, it sounds like all of VUSD’s high school students have gotten what they have wished for. It’s official; on February 12th from 8:00 p.m. till 11:00 p.m. Golden West High School is hosting a “Golden Gala” Winter Formal Dance at the Groppetti Community Stadium. The dance will follow a Roaring 20’s theme although dress attire doesn’t have to completely follow the theme. Tickets will be sold at each high school for $15.00 each. Everyone who buys tickets will have to complete a COVID-19 test with proof of a negative result within 72 hours of the dance. So please go grab your dancing shoes and a lovely partner to prepare for an event specifically designed for students to dance their nights away.
