Review:

It’s been a few days now since I finished Siege and Storm. I loved this book! I love, love Tolya and Tamar. I adore their bond and I hope to see more of them in Ruin and Rising. In all honesty, I enjoyed Siege and Storm much more than Shadow and Bone. The storyline and plot was well written and the chapters picked up very nicely which made it so much easier to read. The book consisted of juicy action-packed chapters that had me constantly amused and ready for more. Several new characters were introduced throughout the book that I took a liking to. Although my favorite would have to be Sturmhond. The infamous Privateer made the storyline so much more interesting. His bravery, optimism, and cleverness made him such a likable character. Alina and Mal, on the other hand, made me quite aggravated. Their relationship is rocky, to say the least. Alina’s character development is heading in the wrong direction. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a great main character. She is both flawed and incredibly strong. She has her moments of immaturity, but at the end of the day, she takes a lot of responsibility for herself and the people around her. I have to say, I know a lot of people aren’t very fond of Mal, but I don’t find him all that bad. I just hope that Mal and Alina can work out their differences and communicate more in Ruin and Rising. Overall I enjoyed Siege and Storm and I’m super excited to dive deeper into the Grishaverse.
