The 2021-22 Major League Baseball Lockout is an ongoing work stoppage meaning that some regular-season games will be canceled. This has only happened eight times before in history. It was caused by the expiration of the previous MLB collective bargaining agreement on December 1, 2021. If a deal for a new collective bargaining agreement is reached by Wednesday, the players will be able to play a full 162-game season in 2022. If there’s no deal, more regular-season games will be canceled.
