Book Recommendation

Don’t you want to go outside and sit in a comfortable chair, the sun shining, reading a book? That sure sounds nice!

“STIFF” by Mary Roach is a great book if you would like an insight into the medical/research field. In case you are wondering what kind of medical components this book addresses, let me tell you it states “The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers” in the title. As someone who has a weak stomach when it comes to gruesome details, this book is still manageable to read.

This book is written from the perspective of someone who is visiting a medical center with multiple sections in it, one including the morgue. The book explains how people all see death differently; addressing the views of donating dead bodies to the medical field.

The author shows how workers in this field handle their job and what it takes to see these dead bodies daily. This book is great for many curious people who want to learn more about the science of the human body, it explains the processes that human cadavers go through and how they truly help the medical field.

Not only does this book express how human cadavers are used in science for research and autopsies, but this book also shows the history of human cadavers. Many people did not respect the bodies after people died; they dug up graves and sold them on the black market. There were a lot of sketchy actions going on revolving around cadavers.

I suggest this book for anyone interested in how human’s bodies work, the science behind them, and how they contribute to crime scenes.
