There are many hardships that we all go through in our life. Some are self-inflicted, and some hardships are caused by other people. Either way, hurt and sadness can turn into anger. Anger can turn into wanting revenge and hurting someone. Whether that be yourself or another person. Being upset with yourself or others can cause many negative emotions. Negative emotions aren’t only bad for those around you, but it affects your mental and physical health. Have you ever been so upset you had no motivation? That’s letting yourself wallow and not process your emotions. Sitting by yourself, thinking about whatever is bothering you, is a good place to start. It’s a good start in the right direction. Any hardship you go through, even if it’s self-inflicted or not, forgiveness is a vital part of our healing. Without forgiveness, how can we move forward? There are many negative outcomes of studies showing that if we don’t forgive ourselves or others, and hang onto these negative emotions, it can end badly. But if you forgive others and let those negative emotions go, it can lower the risk of a heart attack, lower cholesterol levels, improve sleep, and reduce depression and anxiety. The most important thing that you need to do in order to heal properly is forgiveness.
