After nearly nine years, actress Amanda Bynes has had her conservatorship terminated by a California judge on Tuesday. Amanda had been first put into the conservatorship in 2013 when she was struggling with substance abuse which led to publicized erratic behavior and being arrested multiple times. Since last month, Amanda had filed to terminate her arrangement along with her lawyer David A. Esquibias who stated, “She believes her condition is improved and protection court is no longer necessary”.  In comparison to Britney Spears’ conservatorship, Amanda Bynes was able to end hers quicker, with the support of both her parents. Her parent’s lawyer, Tamar Arminak, tells EW, “Lynn is so proud of Amanda and the progress she has made and looks forward to having a mother-daughter relationship with Amanda outside of the conservatorship”. While in the hearing Judge Roger L. Lund had said “she had done everything the court has asked over a long period of time”. The court had decided following a tentative ruling on Monday that the conservatorship was no longer required and that the establishment wasn’t needed anymore for Amanda. Amanda herself told PEOPLE magazine, “Following today’s decision by the judge to terminate my conservatorship, I would like to thank my fans for their love and well wishes during this time. I would also like to thank my lawyer and my parents for their support over the last nine years”.
