Studio Ghibli is one of my favorite animation companies because they made some of my favorite movies ever. Some popular films that they’ve made are Ponyo, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Princess Mononoke. All that I have mentioned are some of my favorite movies but nothing can ever compare to Ponyo. Ponyo is basically my comfort movie. A goldfish princess is forbidden to see the surface when she then encounters a human boy, Sosuke, who names her Ponyo. As Ponyo starts to grow her friendship with Sosuke, she becomes more human-like. Ponyo’s father brings her back to their ocean kingdom but Ponyo’s wish is so strong that she breaks free and while doing it she spills collections of magical elixirs that endanger Sosuke’s village. It’s definitely a film worth watching, as is every other film they’ve produced.
