Banana Bread Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup of butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 to 4 ripe bananas mashed
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon of salt

For the glaze:

  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
  2. Grease a 9 by 13-inch pan with cooking spray
  3. In a large bowl cream together butter and sugar
  4. Beat in the yogurt, eggs, bananas, and vanilla extract
  5. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt
  6. Mix just until moistened
  7. Stir in walnuts
  8. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan 
  9. Bake for 23 to 28 minutes

Frosting:

  1. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat
  2. Allow the butter to simmer until it starts to brown slightly and immediately remove from heat
  3. Whisk in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of milk until smooth
  4. Pour the warm frosting over the warm bars
  5. Enjoy!
