- A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson – I have never been a big fan of mystery, but this book changed my mind. I could not put it down and I finished the book in a day. A tragic murder haunts a small town for years, but Pip isn’t so sure that the verdict was true. As she dives deeper into the case, more information is revealed and her investigation becomes more dangerous. This plot is absolutely amazing and there are so many unexpected plot twists. I would rate this book a 5/5 because of the storyline and the amazing story telling.
- The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes – This book is easily one of my favorite books I’ve read this year. It has all the elements of mystery and romance. A teenager, Avery Grambs, inherits a billionaire’s fortune, however he disinherited his own family. Why did he choose a random girl over his own family? Alliances are made, secrets are uncovered, and lives are threatened. This plot is absolutely amazing and the book is so hard to put down! I would rate this book a 4.5/5 because it can get a little slow at times, but is still amazing.
- The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes – This book is the sequel to Inheritance Games! I was so excited to read this book and it perfectly continues the series. If you like the old money and glamorous lifestyle, this book is for you. There are so many unexpected twists and turns throughout the book. The love triangle is very captivating. The plot mainly continues in the second book, but there is now a different mystery to solve. Greed and disgruntled parents are the main antagonists. Avery Grambs continues to be a teenage billionaire, but she has trouble adjusting to her new normal. I would rate this book a 5/5 because of the depth of the characters and the plot!
