The Truman Show (Review)

“The Truman Show” revolves around a massive secret about the main character, Truman’s, life. I had the privilege of being able to watch the movie without knowing this secret beforehand, so if by some miracle you still don’t know it, I recommend that you watch it before continuing to read this review.

The secret is that Truman’s whole life is in a set and he has been filmed since birth. He is the star of the most popular reality tv show in the world and he doesn’t even know it. The movie is a progression of Truman slowly realizing that something is off, and finally uncovering the truth at the end. He leaves the set after saying his catchphrase “In case I don’t see ya . . . good afternoon, good evening, and good night.”

This movie is absolutely one of my favorites due to the unique plot and amazing ending. I love the ending so much but sadly a lot of people don’t see the greatness of it and think the whole movie is bad because of it. The ending is so great because after Truman leaves the show, you’re left there sitting on your couch wanting to know how his life is outside and what happened after. At that moment, you don’t realize that you’ve become the enemy. He just left after being watched his entire life and you’re still wanting more. It’s absolutely genius and it’s what makes it one of my favorite movies.

Overall, “The Truman Show” is an amazing movie, and I recommend that everyone should watch it when they get the chance.
